Etsy: Made in Canada 2015 Recap

Wow, we cannot get over what a success the 2015 show has been! Over 12,000 shoppers came out to support handmade & vintage – an incredible example of how important these small businesses have become in Calgarian culture and lifestyle.

Our vendors showcased some outstanding works, with everything from creative shirts, to spiced soaps, to hand-tooled leather, to absolutely everything in between. We owe a huge thank you to the staff at Golden Acre Garden Sentre, who took care of our every need and problem-solved when the unexpected happened.

Over the coming months, we’ll start planning for the 2016 edition. With each year, this market is a learning process and we’re going to work hard to keep making it better with every iteration. Our goal is to promote the handmade and vintage community in the best possible fashion, with happy shoppers and fabulous purchases.

If you weren’t able to make it to the market, or if you misplaced that business card from your favourite vendor, you can shop the show over at the official Etsy: Made in Canada page. Be sure to check out what some of the other cities had on offer while you’re there. Our small businesses depend on local Canadian shoppers.

A final thank you goes out to Bree Johnson of Bree Johnson Photo & Classically Quirky. Not only did Bree help us out with setup, but she stayed on hand for most of the day to document the market. Be sure to check out her website and flip through the slideshow below.

Don’t forget to tag @etsycalgary with photos of your purchases from the day. We love to see what everyone bought and how you’ve fit these unique pieces into
your home & lifestyle.

Thank you, Calgary! We can’t wait to see you again next year!
