Starting off today’s vendor introductions is Becky of Becky Warren Design.

1. What do you make/sell?

Becky Warren Design creates whimsical animal themed greeting cards, stationery and art prints all originally hand drawn by Becky. We also create block printed home decor items.

2. Why do you make/sell it? What inspires your work?

I create drawings that are relatable to people from all walks of life, and strive to make pieces that connect people to each other. I believe that laughter is the best medicine , and that a love for animals is something people bond very deeply on. That a simple card can make such a difference in someone’s day.

3. Is there anything you’d like to tell others about what you do?

I love to do pet portraits! I have an adorable 10 month old Rottweiler that I love to talk about, let’s talk about pets!

Next we have Jenny of Hop & Flop.

1. What do you make/sell?

I make and sell illustrated paper goods such as art prints and greeting cards as well as some knit and crochet accessories.

2. Why do you make/sell it? What inspires your work?

It was after making custom holiday cards for family and friends that I realized it was the passion of hand crafting that gave me the stepping stone to continue with it. The idea of hand crafting whether with knits or drawings, is inspired by natural patterns and animals that I love. It brings a joy to me to see others smile when they get a card or accessory from me because I enjoy every minute learning a new technique or just creating something from scratch.

3. Is there anything you’d like to tell others about what you do?

I do everything on my own and during my own time after my day job. It’s important to me to create fresh new things by learning or practicing techniques and I’ve fallen in love with block printing and hope to expand the materials and equipment I use.

Next we have Kaitlyn of Pink Chicken Creatons.

1. What do you make/sell?

I make hand-blended chalk paint created from recycled paint and my own compound. With my paint I then upcycle both furniture and decor items in a shabby chic style. I also sell clothing I’ve hand painted with unique designs.

As well, through my shop, I sell vintage items! Anything from unique vintage clothing to china and toys.

2. Why do you make/sell it? What inspires your work?

With my hand painted clothing I really enjoy creating the designs and adding colour to something that was once plain and boring! It’s very similar to why I make my chalk paint. I wanted my colours to be unique and striking, while using recycled materials. I’m all about taking something that is discarded or or unwanted and making it into something new and exciting.

My vintage items are finds from my travels that were just too good to pass up. I love finding unique items and connecting them to people who will cherish them!

3. Is there anything you’d like to tell others about what you do?

I’d like to say thank you first! Then I’d love to tell them to think of my items as an extension of recycling! Feel free to get creative with things you see, personalize your world! 🙂

Next we have Katie of Billie Boone Vintage.

1. What do you make/sell?

Billie Boone Vintage is a focused mix of vintage, much of it cottage-inspired Nordic/Scandinavian pieces as well as Canadiana. Our pieces are quality, usually hand-made, and are a mix of housewares, home decor, art and accessories.

2. Why do you make/sell it? What inspires your work?

I love selling vintage because people always have a story for me or a special way of relating to pieces. People really seem to connect with them – whether their grandmother had this exact blanket or they remembering growing up with these dishes in their home. I also love the idea of giving something beautiful a second chance in a new home. I’m inspired by minimalist interior design, calming neutrals and natural textures.

3. Is there anything you’d like to tell others about what you do?

One of the most unexpected joys I’ve found in what I do is meeting new people and finding out how what they’re drawn to. I’m new to selling vintage and I’m surprised by how kind everyone in the Etsy community has been so far!

2. Why do you make/sell it? What inspires your work?

I originally started Joy of Little Creations with just cards. I wanted to offer a more personable option to the $10 plain generic cards being bought from stores. Then my mind started racing with lots of other ideas and now I create a wide range of items ! Most of which are one of a kinds !

I’ve always enjoyed doing arts and crafts. In school I couldn’t wait for art and home ec class (sewing) ! Now that I’m at home with Makena, I enjoy doing diy projects to decorate our house.
However, Joy of Little Creations started when I was pregnant and opened a year after Makena was born. I’m able to create on a daily basis, share my creations with everyone, and best of all, I get to watch my daughter grow up ! A hobby turned business and it’s just another creative outlet for me!
