Announcing our Spring Market - Snack Time! And yes, it’s all about food!

Come join us on Sunday, May 14th from 10am to 4pm in the Hemingway Room at @thecommonsyyc (1204 20th ave SE). Treat yourself and bring your mom along for a veritable feast of locally-made snacks and snack-themed items. Calgary's handmade food scene has taken off in the last few years and we want to celebrate all the delicious things that are made right here.

Vendor applications are open from February 1st to February 28th. We’re looking for all the food and drink goodness!

Not a food or drink vendor? We're still looking for handmade vendors and artists who are producing items that will fit right in with our Snack Time! theme. Are you a ceramicist who makes beautiful dinnerware? A woodworker who makes excellent cutting boards? A painter who makes unique food-themed prints? We want you there!

It’s Tip Tuesday! Applying for markets can be hard when you’re deep in production mode or if your shop is currently sold out or empty.

When you need to show your products for applications & grants, consider having a portfolio site at the ready. A portfolio site will show images of your current product line + some key information about the pieces (materials, sizes, colour ranges, etc.). There’s no underlying shop to manage or worries if someone buys something that’s not actually available.

The bonus is you don’t have to clutter up inboxes with attachments and your link is always ready to send to anyone who needs to take a look at your work.

You can host your portfolio on a separate page of your website, or you can set up an entirely new site using Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace, or many more that will be reliable for getting your items seen.
